1 scoop vanilla whey or plant-based protein powder
1/2 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
1/2 cup ice cubes
A drizzle of oil for the grill (grape seed or coconut oil works well)
Instructions
Preheat your outdoor grill or an indoor cast-iron grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush the grates with a high-smoke-point oil to prevent the fruit from sticking.
Place the peach halves cut-side down onto the hot grill. Sear them for about 3 to 4 minutes without moving them until distinct grill marks appear. Flip them over and cook for another 2 minutes until the fruit is softened and fragrant.
Remove the peaches from the heat and let them sit for a few minutes. If you prefer a colder smoothie, you can pop them in the freezer for 5 minutes to take the edge off the heat before blending.
Place the grilled peaches, protein powder, Greek yogurt, almond milk, cinnamon, and honey into a high-speed blender. Add the ice cubes last to ensure a smooth blend.
Start the blender on a low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and no large bits of peach skin remain.
Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness if necessary. Pour into a chilled glass and serve immediately while fresh and frothy.
